Employed by the football club and working alongside Mace under a Construction Management contract, Colorminium have been engaged on the scheme to deliver all the pitch side glazing to the hospitality and executive suites. Working with the architects and their outline design, a long pre-construction process has seen us match the architectural aspiration to a challenging budget. With high stakeholder engagement due to the prominence of the glazing, the dramatic 61,000 capacity stadium design will be complemented by this stunning glazing to a number of viewing positions.
Responsible for all the pitch side glazing, carefully co-ordinated detailed design will be needed to bring the varying glazed elements together. A concrete frame structure with pre-cast terraces has meant that Colorminium’s scope infills between levels to give uninterrupted views to the pitch from the hospitality suites and executive boxes. The glazing has perimeter framing designed into the structure giving clear and uninterrupted views.
To the 9th level, the glazing is inclined outwards for greater visibility and a cladding zone extends into the roof structure. Integrated frameless doors complete the experience at this level.
To the ground floor, all doorsets from the street level to all stands are also included in the package.
The completed stadium will be stunning, giving an exceptional spectator experience.
