Joining the business when leaving college, Ross started in the fabrication workshop where he has climbed from the ground up. Moving rapidly through the business with experience in fabrication, installation, project management he moved into the company finance role as a shareholder in 2000 before taking the role as Managing Director in 2011 from his father.
His experience in all aspects of the business make him pivotal in steering the business towards its aspiration to be the specialist façade partner of choice in the UK development market.
Working closely with the senior management team, he remains active in key business development and high level leadership, particularly the business’s apprenticeship scheme.
Kieran joined the company over 10 years ago working on a separate division of the business specialising in steel fenestration. Incorporation of the group in 2010 saw Kieran join the main Colorminium board as Construction Director over all live projects. Rapid progression has seen him move to take responsibility for Business Development and key client liaison across all sectors internationally in 2012.
Coming from a construction background of commercial office refurbishment prior to this, he has a vast experience in major construction and a clear understanding of the way the industry operates.
His primary responsibilities are the communication of the Colorminium brand and expertise to the company’s target markets and the advancement of the Engineering Excellence programme. This collaborates closely with industry leaders to advance innovative leadership in façade delivery focusing on delivering value for the asset owners.
Gareth Baker MRICS
Gareth brings an enormous wealth of experience to the management team, with his extensive industry knowledge. Holding a BSc in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying out of Loughborough University, he comes from a background of cost consultancy and risk analysis. Commencing his career at Arcadis UK and working through to Director level, his notable responsibilities included the construction delivery of the Emirates Stadium for Arsenal Football Club and the Olympic Stadium for the London 2012 Olympics.
Moving on from Arcadis to Sir Robert McAlpine in 2012, he took the role of Deputy Regional Commercial Director for London and the South East where he successfully led the commercial team on a number of high profile schemes and client frameworks, delivering value from his vast knowledge in the industry.
At Colorminium, his responsibility is the commercial management of the business from negotiation and agreement of contractual and risk positions with our clients through to development of procurement and ultimately value driven strategies that deliver their aspirations.
Technical & Design Director
Reuben joined the company over 15 years ago after graduating from a private school in London. Reuben has been at the heart of Colorminium’s growth over the past 10 years and was promoted to Director of Operations and Construction in 2012.
With a strong design led ethos and a strong track record of success in the delivery of iconic projects, he started his life at Colorminium in the factory and has systematically moved through the delivery sectors of the organisation making him ideally suited for the overall delivery responsibility of the company.
Reuben has been involved in the design, planning, and construction of major projects, and has extensive experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on technically challenging, complex schemes including Guys & St Thomas Hospital, and the award winning Angel Building and Alphabeta to mention but a few.
Simon Byne CIMA Adv Dip MA
Simon Byne joined Colorminum after graduating from college in Whetstone and completing his CIMA qualification – CIMA Adv Dip MA. Quickly proving his ability, he set up bespoke finance and cost tracking systems for the company to track and monitor project finance as well as assuming responsibility for the management accounting of the business.
From here he transitioned into the commercial side of the business to primarily work on negotiating the risk profile and contractual position on an individual project basis.
He was promoted to Financial Director in 2012 after helping steer the company through the recent recessions impact on the construction industry and now has overall responsibility for the financial and commercial side of the business.
Ian founded the company in 1976 where he started out manufacturing windows in the domestic setting. Moving into the commercial façade market in 1987, Ian was active in running the company until starting a transitional handover to his eldest son Ross in 2000.
With extensive experience in all aspects of the business, Ian now sits on the board in a consultative role, maintaining relationships with a selection of existing core clients that are fundamental to the business growth and success.
His extensive time in the industry has seen him deliver many award winning schemes that have shaped the London skyline and pushed the boundaries of engineering excellence.
Joining the company in 1981, James has assisted Ian in helping to grow the company from its very early days to its current position at the forefront of the fenestration market.
James completed his education studying mechanical engineering at Watford Technical College with further training and qualifications at The Welding Institute in Cambridge. James has worked in all areas of the business over the years and has a vast amount of experience in design and fabrication and leads a lot of innovation in developing off-site solutions for clients.
James shares the passion and culture of the company that has been established from the outset that “Perfection is barely good enough” We love to push the boundaries and deliver the projects those others shy away from.
At Colorminium now his role is highly focussed in finding innovative design solutions in both pre-construction and live projects and also holds responsibility for the company’s Small Works Division.
