20 Carlton House Terrace Progress Update

It’s great to see the progress at 20 Carlton House Terrace with window frame installation and glazing works commencing yesterday.

The project comprises some very interesting detailing including a large stonework package which we were tasked to match in with the existing Portland stone. The scheme is gifted with a number of different façade treatments including proprietary windows/doors to complex bespoke structural glazing.

Located in one of the most iconic and highly sought after addresses in London, Carlton House Terrace is an exclusive development formed by the John Nash designed grand houses fronting The Mall and St James’s Park, and residential flats facing Waterloo Gardens to the west.  This commercial build will introduce a future-proofed office environment that promotes a healthy workspace, inspiring collaboration and creativity and in turn, caters for a post-pandemic market.

The Transformation of One Berkeley Street

It’s great to see the progress on One Berkeley Street and we are excited to share some recent shots showcasing the building’s impressive development, along with the garden courtyard.

Located in London’s prestigious Mayfair conservation area, facing the Ritz, this building is being transformed to provide a luxury mixed-use complex for Crosstree Real Estate Partners LLP. With the old façade removed and a new pre-cast and glazed façade being installed, the interface and connection detailing is fundamental in the approach. A mixture of capped and SG curtain walling provide glazed infills to the façade with a series of opening vents to the office space giving a light and spacious feel.

An existing through-site link has been retained and amplified, transforming what was an at-grade carpark and delivery space into a garden courtyard, enlivened by hospitality and retail spaces at its fringe. This transformation provides a fresh and accessible public space for both building occupants and incidental commuters alike, offering a welcome escape from the busy thoroughfare of Piccadilly.

New Project Secured – Tower Bridge Court

Excited to share that we have been appointed to deliver the façade on TBC.London. Working with Willmott Dixon alongside FORE PartnershipStiff + Trevillion Architects and Rider Levett Bucknall, to transform an out-of-date 90s building into one of the UK’s most sustainable offices.

Having engaged with the design team in the early stages of the development, we were asked to assist in some of the detailing specifically from a buildability perspective.

Two additional floors will be added across the whole building, with a third additional floor set back from Tower Bridge to create a terrace and club room. We’re looking forward to the future as we work to finalise everything in view of starting on site next week.

It’s all going up at St Pancras Campus!

It’s great to see the unitised panels being fitted onto St Pancras Campus in the last couple of weeks, despite the rainy weather.
We engaged early with the team on this scheme, assisting in working up the initial design to a target cost whilst trying to maintain the intent. The design solution for this project is a complete unitised wrap of the commercial centre including stone cladding to the front and a number of other elements to the building involving aluminium windows/doors and cladding of various finishes. Completed project photos released – Benenden School

We are delighted to have played a part in delivering this stunning, state-of-the-art facility for Benenden School.

Now completed, we are pleased to share some stunning shots showing the bespoke fin design which truly brings the architectural vision to reality. The aspiration for the music hall façade was an inclined bespoke fin design, raking out from the primary structure and turning back over the roof line. With varying lengths and a changing inclination line, the setting out and modelling of this package was key to give the desired result.

Located in the Kent countryside, Benenden is a leading boarding school for girls aspiring for excellence in everything they do. Designed by GUY HOLLAWAY ARCHITECTS LIMITED, an award-winning architect and Benenden parent, the new 750 seat concert hall and music hall add to the distinctive legacy that already existed, and cater for the expanding needs of the community there.

The Minories Hotel, Aldgate

This recently completed project sees the first Canopy by Hilton open it’s doors to guests in Aldgate London.

Commissioned by the client, 4C Hotel Group in January 2017 to work on the largest hotel project in their portfolio, Colorminium worked on a façade strategy starting with optimisation through to developing the detailed design of the façade with Acme architects from RIBA stage 2.

This early engagement enabled us to realise the vision of celebrating the existing façade with a bespoke feature fin system that clad the existing pre-cast frame, to give it the stunning finish we see today.

This video captures our journey with the Client and Architect on another stunning landmark scheme – working together to build a sustainable future for London.
