Ian founded the company in 1976 where he started out manufacturing windows in the domestic setting. Moving into the commercial façade market in 1987, Ian was active in running the company until starting a transitional handover to his eldest son Ross in 2000.
With extensive experience in all aspects of the business, Ian now sits on the board in a consultative role, maintaining relationships with a selection of existing core clients that are fundamental to the business growth and success.
His extensive time in the industry has seen him deliver many award winning schemes that have shaped the London skyline and pushed the boundaries of engineering excellence.
Joining the company in 1981, James has assisted Ian in helping to grow the company from its very early days to its current position at the forefront of the fenestration market.
James completed his education studying mechanical engineering at Watford Technical College with further training and qualifications at The Welding Institute in Cambridge. James has worked in all areas of the business over the years and has a vast amount of experience in design and fabrication and leads a lot of innovation in developing off-site solutions for clients.
James shares the passion and culture of the company that has been established from the outset that “Perfection is barely good enough” We love to push the boundaries and deliver the projects those others shy away from.
At Colorminium now his role is highly focussed in finding innovative design solutions in both pre-construction and live projects and also holds responsibility for the company’s Small Works Division.
