World Cancer Day

Cancer touches so many lives, and for us, it’s personal. Our colleague Fletcher Price has faced it head-on—diagnosis, treatment, and the journey to recovery. His experience is a powerful reminder of why awareness, early detection, and support matter.

“As I’m sure you are all aware by now – Today is World Cancer Day

It is also 1,015 days since I started my first round of chemotherapy treatment.

When I was first diagnosed, I felt overwhelmed and scared. But through each treatment and every hurdle, I found an incredible community of support—family, friends, colleagues, and healthcare professionals—who stood by me every step of the way.

This journey has also given me a new perspective on life and work. It’s taught me to appreciate the little victories, to stay positive in the face of adversity, and to never give up hope. I’ve learned to balance my professional ambitions with self-care and well-being, recognizing that true success comes from a harmonious blend of both.

It was a hard time but also a time of learning and development, and I’m glad to say that we made it through and now I don’t know what’s harder to get through – Chemo or the Construction industry!

Thanks to all those who have supported me on my journey and I look forward to the future.”

This World Cancer Day, we’re also supporting those making a real difference. Teenage Cancer Trust provides vital support to young people facing cancer, ensuring they never have to navigate the journey alone. If you’d like to help, every pound counts.
