Here are some insights from Chloe, our Office Manager at Colorminium, who expresses her excitement for the varied tasks and responsibilities that come with the job.

What do you like most about your job?

My favorite thing about being the Office Manager for Colorminium is the variety of work I have the opportunity to engage in. One day, I will be conducting an audit, the next day I might be working with the Supply Chain team, and by the end of the week, I could be assisting in organizing a team event.

What do you find most rewarding about working in a business support role?

The most rewarding part of working in a business support role is the ability to help the entire company. Our stakeholders encompass all of the employees. By doing so, I acquire a broad knowledge base, and passing on this knowledge to help enhance the efficiency of other roles is incredibly gratifying.

What skills or qualities do you think are crucial for someone to excel in a business support role?

Being a people person is crucial; you need to be aware of what’s happening within the broader company, and that requires actively engaging with people and asking questions. I also believe that having a drive for improvement is a critical attribute for a member of the business support team. The eagerness to enhance systems, support functions, and oneself is essential.

What opportunities for growth and professional development have you encountered in your business support role?

Upon joining the company, I was immediately provided access to training programs to further my development within my role, as well as opportunities for potential career progression. However, I feel that most of my professional growth has been achieved through the varied responsibilities within my role. In business support, no role is left to become mundane, as we continuously strive to improve and expand our support functions.

What do you appreciate most about the company culture and work environment at Colorminium?

What I appreciate the most is the sense of being valued and respected within the company. Throughout the organization, I feel that the rest of the team respects and values my opinions.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in business support?

If you aspire to advance your career and challenge yourself to achieve greater heights while experiencing a “Family Business” atmosphere, Colorminium would be an excellent opportunity for you.

What aspect of your business support role has surprised you the most since joining Colorminium?

The extent to which the role extends has been the most surprising aspect. Just as I start feeling comfortable with my responsibilities, I am presented with opportunities to expand my knowledge and try something new. Stepping out of your comfort zone is essential for personal growth.
