Do you believe a clear documented process is key? Not to constrain but to liberate…..think about it – if you don’t have to always be thinking “have I remembered this” and “have I remembered that” then you have time to focus on what really matters! That’s why process is important.

Some say there’s another 80/20 rule, 80% of what we do should be process and 20% should be flair. In what I see around me in construction generally there’s a unsustainable reliance on the ‘flair’.

Everything can be boiled down to a process, we’ve shown here a basic detail from one of our historic projects showing a simple process – internal hand sketches through to full construction drawings that have been run through our design process stages to ensure we don’t miss a critical stage in the journey.

Are you able to articulate your process and convince others as to why it works so well? I believe it’s a key question and one we’re always looking to refine.

Process……probably best described in W. Edwards Deming’s famous quote: “If you can’t describe what you are doing as a process, you don’t know what you’re doing.”….Do you know what you are doing?
